Chisel in bronze, given by an Arab to Rev. Professor John Forbes, on a visit to the valley of the Tombs of the Kings, near Thebes in 1839.
Chinese compass. A small rectangular wooden box with two rows of notches along its length on the top side. There is also a circular cavity with a pin in the centre on which the needle would have been. The cavity and notches have Chinese characters around them. There is a panel of wood with concentric rings and characters on it which slides out from the underside of the box; it has feet allowing it to stand in the notches.

Cheese thermometer. A pointed glass cylinder with mercury at the bottom and the numbers 0 to 240 in increments of ten marked up it. In red is marked Zero at 0 degrees, Freezing at 32 degrees, Churning at 62 degrees, Cheese at 85 degrees, Pasteurising at 152 degrees and Water Boil at 212 degrees.
