Sword. Almost a metre long steel sword, the blade has two grooves along its length, the handle is surrounded by a basket of steel loops with decorative punched hearts, and red cushioning inside.
Highland broadsword (A434+5b) and silver-plated cross-guard (A434+5a), used by Lachlan Forbes when Regimental Adjutant, 1st Volunteer Battalion Gordon Highlanders.

Basket-hilted backsword, hilt decoration: stylised leaves & pierced bands, grip missing. Hilt is the work of Walter Allan of Stirling and was made in the mid-18th century. The blade has a mark near the top of the blade.

Claymore. A huge sword with a blade almost a metre and a half long, with a squarish handle covered in leather decorated with bands of horizontal lines, a ridged cylindrical pommel, a cross guard terminating in diamond shaped loops at each end, and large oval shaped guards on both sides of the handle.
Two-handed sword. Guard type: double shell. Quillon shape: pierced diamonds. The grip is wood, covered with leather which is tooled transversely in about 11 groups of 4 lines.
