Annular brooch. Two brooches (see also ABDUA 15548) were excavated from a long cist in 1912 or thereabouts, at the old Church of Stenness. Old notes refer to discovery as follows: 'found beside the head of a female body in stone coffin. Coffin made of two long thin narrow slabs, two short end slabs, a thin covering stone, no bottom stone. Lay in clay below soil of floor of old church of Stenness, Orkney, on whose site present church was built a few years ago'.
