Naptha lamp, known as an 'oilie-bubblie', made of tin with a hook for hanging. Naptha is a flammable oil distilled from the oil shales of central Scotland. This lamp has a pear-shaped metal body with a wick at the top, and a glass funnel. The naptha is replenished through the filling spout on the side of the body. The small brass plaque is inscribed, 'FRANCIS McD HAY TINSMITH PETERHEAD'.
