Branks. Made of iron, a mask that covers the lower part of the face and has a triangle of metal projecting where the mouth would be. It has a heart shape and dots punched out of it, and loops which go over the top and sides of the head.
Branks or gag in iron. Jointed bars enclosed the head and were secured behind, and the projecting plate passed into mouth over the tongue. This specimen was used in the Parish of Dunnotar, Kincardineshire as a form of punishment for female scolds.

Flask. A large curved rectangular flask, about a foot wide.
Curved metal flask, in iron or tin. Capacity: half a gallon (2.2 litres).

Washing dolly. A wooden pole about half a metre long with a plunger shaped part made of copper at the bottom.
Washing dolly or agitator, copper base, wooden handle. One of a number of items donated by Mrs Argo of Aberdeen, some of which were used on the farm of Darnabo, near Fyvie, Aberdeenshire.

Guinea scales. A small set of scales consisting of two brass pans hung on either end of a rod with a hinge in the centre. There is also a box containing thick brass weights resembling coins.
