Flat axe in bronze.
Aureus. Small gold coin about the size of a 1 pence piece. On one side is the profile of an emperor with laurels and the inscription IMPCAESSARVESPASIANVSAUGTRP. On the other side is a female figure wearing a cap and toga, holding a set of scales and a staff, with the inscription COSITER TRPO.
Gold coin of Vespasian (69 - 79 AD) found at Port Elphinstone, Inverurie.

Two pieces of oak, from Byron's house in Broad Street, Aberdeen.
Mortsafe model. Three wooden poles arranged in a pyramid shape over a hole in the ground. Hanging over the hole is a coffin shaped slab of stone, suspended from the poles by a series of hooked metal bars and a winch.
Model of an early nineteenth-century Inverurie mortsafe - the original would have been placed over recent burials to prevent the removal of bodies for study.
