We would particularly like to thank colleagues in the University and other critical friends, who have supported us as we have curated this exhibition and who have commented on draft texts. Their advice has been invaluable.

This exhibition is based around research conducted by Dr Richard Anderson, Lecturer in the History of Slavery, between 2020 and 2022 as part of a project to research the legacies of slavery at the University within the context of the broader region. The research drew on the University’s historic archives and museum collections, some of which are exhibited here. Thanks are due to the many people who have supported that research which underpins this exhibition. The full report can be read here: The University of Aberdeen and the Legacies of Slavery | About | The University of Aberdeen (abdn.ac.uk)
