Oil painting, 1/2 portrait, looking R, wearing red turban, dark coat, brown studio b/g. Copy of Raeburn portrait in Fyvie Castle or possibly portrait in Glasgow University (see Scottish National Portraits 1884 No325). Reid (1710-1796) b. Strachan, MA MC 1726, later Professor Moral Philosophy Glasgow.
Inscription: On Frame: Dr. Thomas Reid Moral philosopher and one time Rector of Kings College c.1710
