Abstract
W. MacGillivray (1796-1852) was Professor of Natural History at Marischal College from 1841. He was author of 'A History of British Birds' and an eminent authority on ornithology. This work may be a copy of a watercolour completed in oil by MacGillivray's daughter Anne.
