Kris with straight, double-edged, damascened blade in steel. Carved wooden handle. Carved wooden sheath bearing symbols in black ink. Thomson's MS Catalogue: 'Madurese Kris. The letters on the sheath are the 'chop' of a Chinese pawnbrokers. Mr Arthur Fraser.' Arthur Fraser was Thomson's brother-in-law and a merchant in Java.
