Description

Large bronze flat axe head of the Migdale type. See Banchory House Museum Catalogue: 'Found while removing a cairn of stones in 1860, along with five others, in Parish of Durris'. Coles (1969) notes: 'presented to the National Museum in 1882, and another one was in Free Church College, Aberdeen, Museum in 1880, not in Anthropological Museum, Aberdeen. Four other axes are lost.
