Title
Roof boss. A large, round piece of beige sandstone with six roughly cylindrical elements meeting in a cross on the underside. On the upper, round side of the stone is carved two lizard like monsters, each biting the other's tail.

Two beasts snapping at each others tail, carved in local sandstone. 6 rib vault boss originally part of the 15th-century work of Elgin Cathederal. This sculpture and ABDUA 17827 were recovered from the ruins and kept at Montcoffer House, Banff.
