The church at Monymusk, Aberdeenshire was originally Norman and was connected with a Celtic Christian community until it was made an Augustinian Priory in the mid 13th century. The church and priory fell into ruin in the mid 16th century, before the Reformation and the church was rebuilt after the Reformation, in the early 17th century. This rare plaster sculpture is the head of the dead, crucified Christ, and came from the pre-Reformation church. It was part of a larger piece sculpted in 16th or 17th century.]]></dcterms:abstract>
