    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Dry, bird egg. The egg was once in the French Royal collections, and is inscribed in black ink &#039;Pingouin&#039;, the French name for the Great Auk. The inscription was written by Monsieur Dufresne, keeper of the King&#039;s cabinet in Paris in the early nineteenth century. Data Book contains extract of advertisement for the forthcoming Stevens&#039; Sale of the egg and Times article (dated 10/02/1909) regarding the outcome of the sale. Data Oologica contains full advertisement for the forthcoming Stevens&#039; Sale of the egg. ]]></dcterms:description>
