    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Silver pocket watch, quite thick and rounded, wound by a key and with Roman numerals. Made in Banff, Banffshire in the 19th century by John Wood, a watch and clockmaker. The back is hinged and the makerÔÇÖs name and trade is written inside the back on a paper label.<br />

    <dcterms:title><![CDATA[Sundial. Two folding brass rings engraved with degrees, dots and lines with a central bar which has a slider on it and the first letter of each month. The slider has a tiny hole in it which light shines through.]]></dcterms:title>
    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Portable, ring sun dial. A small traveller&#039;s sundial, early 19th century. Two brass rings swing out at 90 degrees to each other, to make an open sphere, with a radial metal slider. The date is set on the slider, the sun shines through a hole in it and on to the outer rings so the time can be read.<br />

    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Small traveller&#039;s sun dial, brass, circular shape, mid 18th century.   Inscribed on both surfaces with numerals to allow the time to be read.  The ring is hung by a thread from the small loop on the outside and a tiny hole in the ring allows a beam of sun to shine through on to the numerals on the inner side of the ring.   The time is read from the altitude of the sun.  Made by T W Proctor, in England.]]></dcterms:description>
