    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Silver snuff mull with a barrel-shaped body, of Forbes of Blacktoun, a prisoner at Shirramuir. The lid is engraved with a Jacobite rose and the owner&#039;s name &#039;William Forbes of Blacktoun&#039;. Engraving on the front of the snuff mull shows the coat of arms of the Forbes family with the three boars&#039; heads and the words &#039;UIR ESCO&#039;.<br />

    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Snuff mull, with a black wooden barrel-shaped body, silver rim, mounts and hinges. The lid is inscribed with two entwined hearts and &#039;Rob Gib&#039;s Contract&#039; (Jacobite passwords). This mull may have been made by Ferguson of Rothiemay (there is a similar snuff mull, signed by him, in Kelvingrove Museum, Glasgow). Letter in file.<br />

    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[David Ferrier&#039;s brass microscope, that he used in his research into the brain. It is monocular with a single lens.  Light for the stage is provided via a concave mirror below the stage.  There are three eyepieces for the microscope.
