    <dcterms:title><![CDATA[Sculpture Carving Knight]]></dcterms:title>
    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Large stone effigy, in sandstone, of an armoured knight from the ruins of Elgin Cathedral, Morayshire.  It is carved nearly in the round but with the back attached to a wall and comprises head and torso.  The knight wears armour of the late 15th century, with chain mail and plate armour shown by the carving.  He also has a helmet and carries a sword, pointing up and entwined with a sash, in the right hand.  His left hand holds something to his chest. It is likely that this effigy was attached to the mid tower of the Cathedral. Two similar effigies (of Bishop Innes and of a knight) are still in Elgin Cathedral.]]></dcterms:description>

    <dcterms:title><![CDATA[Carved stone ball. Roughly the size of a tennis ball. Black, polished stone ball with four large flat circular knobs arranged equidistant from each other. The knobs have a finely cut grid pattern and each square is rounded to produce tiny squarish knobs. The spaces between the large knobs are cut with lines that flow around the knobs.]]></dcterms:title>
    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Type: 9c, 4 knobs, made of serpentine.  Four large, dome-shaped knobs and is finely decorated all over.  Each knob is cross-hatched, carefully incised to make tiny cubes between the incised lines. The spaces between the knobs are decorated with fine grooves.  Although there is no record of a provenance of this ball in the museum&#039;s slip catalogue, it is thought to come from Towie, Aberdeenshire (Jim Inglis).]]></dcterms:description>

Decorated with four bands of horizontal lines around the lower body, belly, neck and rim, with plain zones between them. Three broad bands of comb-impressed decoration cover the exterior, with herringbone, and broad bands of zig-zag, separated by horizontal lines that are particularly accented at the neck to form cordons.     <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Final Northern type, of medium size with very short neck.  Burnished red exterior, body decorated symmetrically above and below a plain band around the belly with a pattern of cross-hatching which supports triangles, in-filled alternately with cross-hatching and V-shaped lines.  The neck is cross-hatched, and inside the rim it is incised with a fine fringed motif.  The beaker was found in an otherwise empty cist at Mill Farm, Rathen, Aberdeenshire.]]></dcterms:description>
