Painted 1773 in London during Beattie&#039;s visit there to coincide with the publication of the 4th edition of &#039;The Nature of Truth&#039; and the award of his LLd. Beattie awarded an LLd from Oxford 1773. The donors were the grandnieces of Beattie. Glazed (TRU-VUE 4.5mm Acrylic).<br />
