    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Relief carving showing the royal family of the 18th Dynasty pharaoh Akhenaten. Akhenaten, a brother of Tutankhamun established his court at Amarna and replaced the traditional religion with a belief in a single god in the form of Aten, represented on this carving as the disc of the sun. These beliefs did not survive but had an impact on Christianity centuries later. This may be a 19th century fake, made because of the Christian interest in Amarna.]]></dcterms:description>

    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Dating from the period after the start of Roman rule when Christianity had become established instead of the Ancient Egyptian religion. This is demonstrated by this carving which incorporates Christian and Ancient Egyptian symbolism. The cross is enclosed by a laurel crown and has attached to it the &#039;lock of Horus&#039; which may have inspired the Christian monogram &#039; XP&#039; for the first two letters of &#039;Christ&#039; in Greek. The word &#039;EULOGIA&#039; inscribed on the stone in Greek letters means &#039; in praise of the dead&#039;. Coptic.]]></dcterms:description>
