Cecilia wears red and white diaphanous robe clasped with pearls at neck and shoulder, unframed. Has been cut from original frame and remounted. Paste-lined and attached to 4-member stretcher; lining remains sound with puncture and convex dent noted 21 5 cm from top and 50 5cm from right. Appearance poor because of layers of discoloured varnish. Extent of overpaints unknown. The painting is a partial copy of the painting by Michele Rocca (Il Parmigiano) in the Ringling Museum of Art, Sarasota, Florida. This portrait is included in the list of paintings in the Store in Marischal College compiled by Geroge Davidson on 9th March 1958. Recorded as St Cecilia, 18th Century. 4' high or over.
