Carved wooden figure of the 'Shinto' Religion. Japenese work, depicting a Genius holding a Demon with a 'Keu' sword and sheath with glass eyes. The work is carved in soft wood and covered by a coat of glued rice paper with details and colours. A brass or copper loop present to attach the scabbard to the body. The base has two blocks of lead to give the impression of a heavy precious wood carving (N.B No lead present, base is painted wooden block.)
