Description

Portable, ring sun dial. A small traveller's sundial, early 19th century. Two brass rings swing out at 90 degrees to each other, to make an open sphere, with a radial metal slider. The date is set on the slider, the sun shines through a hole in it and on to the outer rings so the time can be read.
